
Houston Rockets Re-Assign Morris to NBA D-League Affiliate Rio Grande Valley

NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2012 - The Houston Rockets today re-assigned forward Marcus Morris to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' NBA D-League affiliate. The assignment marks the 32nd time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the second assignment for Morris this season. He was originally assigned to the Vipers on Jan. 3.
Morris (6-9, 235) appeared in four games for the Vipers during his first assignment, averaging 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. In his first game with Rio Grande Valley on Jan. 6 against the Dakota Wizards, he scored a season-high 33 points on 13-of-24 from the field to go with 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Originally selected by the Rockets with the 14th overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft out of Kansas, he was selected as the Big 12 Player of the Year and the Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player last season.
