Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros are partnering with the Houston Red Cross for the Houston Aeros Hero Night on Monday, October 13 to help Hurricane Ike relief efforts. Houston Aeros Charities will donate proceeds from ticket sales during a check presentation at an intermission.
"The Greater Houston Area Red Cross appreciates the support from the Aeros to help meet the needs of those affected by Hurricane Ike," said Houston Red Cross CEO, Davis Henderson. "The Red Cross is committed to sheltering, feeding and providing emotional support for people whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Ike."
Houston will play their only Monday game in the 2008-09 season tonight against the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. in Toyota Center. A win for either team tonight would put them in a tie for first in the division with Rockford and Iowa. This is the 95th all-time meeting between Houston and Milwaukee.
Among other activities to bring attention to the continuing relief efforts, the Houston Red Cross CEO Davis Henderson will drop the ceremonial first puck. $7 of regularly priced center-ice tickets and $4 from regularly priced lower-end zone tickets purchased will be donated to the Red Cross during the check presentation on the ice. The donations from the tickets will apply for both the Home Opener on October 11 and the October 13 games.
"The Aeros want to reach out to our fan base and community to lend a hand to those affected greatly by Hurricane Ike," stated Courtney Eidman, Aeros Vice President of Marketing and Communications. "By partnering with the Red Cross, we are able to help the recovery efforts after such a large natural disaster. Everyone has the opportunity to be hero to someone. This is our way of encouraging people to do the little things that really make a difference."
Aeros Hero Night begins at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all Aeros home games are on sale now so call (713) 974-PUCK to get your choice of seats today!
