Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON, TX (Friday, September 15, 2006) - Houston Dynamo will recognize 25 Hispanic Community leaders with the 2006 Houston Outstanding Hispanic Heritage Community Leader Award, presented by Anheuser-Busch, during Sunday's match against Chivas USA.
After an abundance of applications, these role models were selected based on their contributions to the city of Houston and its Hispanic community. The selection process originally called for 11 recipients. However, because of the heavy volume of applications, and the great quantity of leaders the organization felt should be honored, the list of recipients was expanded to 25. Join these local role models and cheer them up as their names get called up on the field of Robertson Stadium.
"We are honored to have 25 outstanding leaders, people who have made a significant contribution to Houston, the state of Texas and their home country," said Houston Dynamo President and General Manager, Oliver Luck. "These folks, who come from all cultures and backgrounds, have one thing in common; their eagerness to help others and make a difference, and we would like to recognize their efforts in such a big night," said Luck.
Luck will join these outstanding men and women, who are leaders in education, health care, and community service, on the field as they receive their awards. Joining the ceremony and representing Anheuser-Busch will be Geographic Marketing Manager, Alicia Zepeda.
Kick off is slated for 7:30 PM, on Sunday, September 17th. For ticket information, please call 713-276-7500 or log onto www.houstondynamo.com.
