
Houston Dynamo FC Trade MF Derrick Jones to Charlotte FC

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC traded midfielder Derrick Jones and $50,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM) to Charlotte FC in exchange for $250,000 in 2022 GAM, the clubs announced today. The Dynamo will receive 20 percent of any future transfer fee outside of Major League Soccer.
Jones was acquired by the Dynamo on Jan. 21, 2021 in a trade with Nashville SC. He appeared in 20 games for the Dynamo and tallied an assist last season.
The midfielder made 18 appearances with nine starts in Nashville's expansion campaign in 2020. The former U.S. youth international is a product of the Philadelphia Union Academy and began his career with the Union in 2017.
Transaction: Houston Dynamo FC acquired $250,000 in 2022 General Allocation Money from Charlotte FC for midfielder Derrick Jones and $50,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money. The Dynamo will receive 20 percent of any future transfer fee outside of Major League Soccer.
