Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo FC signed Jordy Reyes as an eMLS athlete, the club announced today. Reyes returns to his hometown team after competing independently in 2022. Reyes signed with the Dynamo as the second eMLS athlete in club history in 2020.

"Honestly, it's an honor to represent my city. There's nothing like it," Reyes said. "I was here two years ago, and I know what it takes to be at the top and to win another championship for the city."

The 2023 campaign will mark the sixth eMLS season, which first kicked off in 2018 with the Dynamo claiming the first eMLS Cup title. Reyes, who grew up a Dynamo fan, has followed eMLS since its inception and is motivated to help the Dynamo return the top of eMLS.

"I know that Kid M3mito won the title in 2018," Reyes said. "So, I'm looking to repeat that and bring the second one home."

Reyes returns to the Dynamo after having spent the last year competing in several different competitions in North America, as well as various 2v2 FIFA competitions. The Houston native was also able to connect with other professional athletes during the 2022 competition calendar.

Reyes earned a berth to the last chance qualifier tournament in 2021 during his first stint with the team. With more experience under his belt and one eMLS season in the books Reyes is excited to return for his second eMLS season with the Dynamo.

"I learned that you have to remain calm, composed in certain situations and not rush. You can't get nervous. Just play your game," Reyes said. "Now that I have experience under my belt, I look forward to representing the team against some of the best players in the country."

Further details for the 2023 eMLS season, including competition format, are set to be announced soon.
