Inter Miami CF News Release
Inter Miami CF Homegrown midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi has been called up to the Argentina U-20 national team for a training camp at the Predio de Ezeiza in Buenos Aires, Argentina beginning Dec. 12. The young Key Biscayne, Florida native, who is eligible to represent the team through his Argentine heritage, is the only player in the squad who plays outside of Argentina at the club level.
The camp, coached by legendary Argentine international Javier Mascherano, will consist of three training sessions and serve as preparation for the 2023 CONMEBOL U-20 South American Championship, which will run from Jan. 19 to Feb. 12 in Colombia.
Cremaschi, 17, recently became the Club's fifth Academy product to sign a Homegrown deal with the First Team, capping a strong 2022 for the midfielder. He first starred at the U-17 level, where he helped guide the team to the GA Cup semifinal and earned an MLS NEXT All-Star nod; in the All-Star game, Cremaschi scored an equalizing goal en route to a victory for the East. The midfielder also excelled at the MLS NEXT Pro level with Inter Miami CF II, making his professional debut and going on to tally five goals and one assist in just 743 minutes of play across 13 appearances, eight of them starts.
At the international level, Cremaschi has previously represented the United States with several different age groups, most recently being called up to the U-20 MYNT for a week-long training camp in Frisco, Texas, where the squad trained alongside the senior U.S. Men's National Team as it made its final preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He also featured at the Slovenia Nations Cup with the U-19 Men's Youth National Team, where he helped the team clinch the title, including starting and bagging a brace to help the team earn a win over Croatia.
Cremaschi remains eligible to represent either Argentina or the United States at the international level.
