Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo host Sporting Kansas City tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. CT at BBVA Compass Stadium in a match presented by Degree for Men. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or at the stadium ticket office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from 9 a.m. through kickoff on Wednesday. Tomorrow's game is the penultimate home game of the regular season.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast live on CSN Houston (7 p.m. pregame) and can be heard on Yahoo Sports Radio 1560 AM and La Ranchera 850 AM (Spanish).

Tomorrow is the second of three consecutive home games for the Dynamo against Eastern Conference rivals. Houston opened the final homestand with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Friday behind Ricardo Clark's goal.

The Dynamo (13-10-8; 47 points) are in third place in the Eastern Conference with three regular season games remaining. Friday's win over Montreal extended the club's unbeaten run to four games (3-0-1) in MLS play and five games in all competitions. Houston is four points behind Sporting Kansas City (15-10-6; 51 points), which secured a 1-0 road win at Columbus on Saturday.

Houston can clinch a berth in the MLS Cup playoffs if each of the following occurs this week: The Dynamo defeat Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, and the New England Revolution tie or lose at Montreal on Saturday, and the Chicago Fire lose at FC Dallas on Saturday.

The Dynamo trail the first place New York Red Bulls (53 points) by seven points and have a one point lead over fourth place Montreal (46 points), two point edge over the Philadelphia Union (45 points) and four point lead over the sixth place Chicago Fire (43 points). The top five clubs in each conference qualify for the playoffs.

Tomorrow is the third meeting this season between Sporting Kansas City and Houston. Sporting KC snapped the Dynamo's MLS record 36-game home undefeated streak with a 1-0 victory on May 12. The clubs met again on May 26 at Sporting Park and played to a 1-1 draw.

Both clubs will be missing players due to international duty for the upcoming CONCACAF World Cup qualifying matches. The Dynamo will be without midfielder Boniek Garcia (Honduras) and defender Jermaine Taylor (Jamaica). Sporting Kansas City will be missing defender Matt Besler (United States) and midfielder Graham Zusi (United States).

The Dynamo are offering discounted tickets for Wednesday's game to all Houston-based government and NASA employees. Government and NASA employees who wish to attend the game will be given a preferred rate on tickets, which provides savings of over 50 percent over regular ticket prices for Dynamo games. To purchase, or for more information, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com/tickets.

Wednesday's game includes Diesel's Toy Chest, a Dynamo Charities initiative to collect toys for B.I.G. Love Cancer Care. Fans can donate toys (valued at $10 or less) at the entrance to BBVA Compass Stadium or at Dynamo SoccerFest (Rusk St. at St. Emmanuel) before the game. For suggested toy donations or more information, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com/dieselstoychest.
