Houston Dash Aim for Largest Crowd of the Season this Sunday

HOUSTON - The Houston Dash look to surpass their largest crowd of the year when they return to Shell Energy Stadium at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, Oct. 8 for the final home match of the regular season. The largest crowd to support the team this season was set in June when 8,128 fans attended the match against OL Reign at Shell Energy Stadium.

Sunday's match against Angel City FC is pivotal as the Dash look to secure a playoff berth for the second consecutive season. The team has won back-to-back games and looks to cement a playoff spot with two matches remaining. Both Angel City FC and the Orlando Pride, Houston's next opponent, are separated by two points or less in the league table.

For as low as $15 dollars, fans can attend the match and the Dash Bash, which features a postgame concert presented by Version. Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc and Rob Base will take the stage to close Fan Appreciation Week.

Vanilla Ice, a native Texan, reached international acclaim in 1990 after his debut album To The Extreme became the fastest-selling hip hop album of all time and is known for his hit song "Ice, Ice Baby" which earned a Grammy nomination.

Also on the bill for Sunday's festivities is rapper Tone Loc, who is best known for his raspy voice and West Coast flow. He will perform his breakout hits "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina", which was Grammy nominated. Wrapping up the musical acts for the evening is the Harlem-born rapper, Rob Base. His hit song "It Takes Two" was certified as a platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1988.
