Houston Aeros Release Mike Hamilton, Reassign John Adams

HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros General Manager Tom Lynn announced today the American Hockey League (AHL) club has released LW Mike Hamilton from a professional tryout (PTO) and reassigned D John Adams to the Corpus Christi IceRays.

Hamilton, 25 (5/2/83), played in 17 games for Houston this season and notched five points (1-4=5). After being held scoreless in his first game with Houston, the Victoria, British Columbia native had a four-game point streak scoring a goal and three assists. Hamilton joined the Chicago Wolves in the 2008 post-season and had a goal in six contests while winning the Calder Cup.

Adams, 26 (12/21/82), was reassigned to the Central Hockey League's (CHL) Corpus Christi IceRays after playing in nine games during his second stint with the Aeros this season. In 13 games, the Wayzata, Minnesota native tallied one assist and eight penalty minutes. In 21 games with the IceRays, Adams has 10 points on three goals and seven assists.

The Aeros will take to the ice again for a pair of games this weekend against the Peoria Rivermen at Toyota Center.
