MIDLAND, TX - Bolstered by a five-run eighth inning, the RockHounds rallied for an 8-4 win over Corpus Christi Wednesday night at Momentum Bank Ballpark.

In taking the first two games of the week, Midland is 7-7 against the Hooks on the season.

For a second consecutive night, CC mustered three runs in the first. A string of singles by Kenedy Corona, Zach Daniels, Joey Loperfido, Colin Barber, and Chad Stevens accounted for the production.

Jack Perkins, making his third Double-A start, then righted the ship for Midland by holding the Hooks to just two more hits until his exit after the sixth.

Aaron Brown delivered an effective start for the Hooks, striking out five against one run, two hits and threw walks in 4 1/3 innings. Brown, who logged a 1.96 ERA in 5 June outings, was pulled after throwing 74 pitches.

Corona, batting .338 in his last 16 games, logged three hits on the night, including a two-out, two-strike RBI single in the seventh that snapped a 3-3 tie.

Midland turned a 4-3 Hooks lead into an 8-4 Hounds bulge by sending 11 to the plate in the eighth. Lazaro Armenteros provided the go-ahead hit on a two-run triple into the gap in right.

For the first time in 18 games, Corpus Christi did not hit a home run. The club's lone extra-base hit came on a two-out double by Drew Gilbert in the ninth.
