As part of the evening there will be a silent auction as well as a live auction. The silent auction will start when the doors open at 5:30pm and run until 7:30pm. The live auction, which will consist of select premier items will start at the conclusion of the keynote speak by Jim Rice, approximately around 8:30pm. This year as well a raffle will be taking place throughout the evening to continue to build on the night and raise funds for a local charity.

This event will raise funds for our local charity partner, Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) of Roanoke Valley. The Hot Stove Banquet proceeds will also fund a scholarship in honor Mike Smith, dedicated supporter of Salem Baseball, 12-year game day employee and long-time City of Salem employee. Mike lost his battle to cancer in August 2008. This year, one high school or college game day employee will be honored with the scholarship.
