
Hot Rods Walk-Off with Wild Win in Extras

Lake County Captains News Release
(Bowling Green, KY)- Bowling Green won the ballgame in the bottom of the eleventh inning on a walk-off wild pitch the final score was 4-3. With the bases loaded Caleb Hamrick tossed a 1-2 pitch in the dirt and it skipped away from the catcher. Breaking from third base and scoring the winning run was Pat Blair. Lake County now falls to 8-7 in extra innings this season.
Lake County scored a run in the top of the first inning. With the bases loaded, Sicnarf Loopstok was hit-by-a-pitch and the score was 1-0 Captains. Bowling Green tied the game in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI double from Oscar Hernandez and the score was 1-1.
Lake County took the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Paul Hendrix singled to lead off the inning. Hendrix took second on a wild pitch and scored on a single from Dorssys Paulino and the score was 2-1 Captains.
The Hot Rods scored two runs to take the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Kean Wong singled home two runs to give Bowling Green the 3-2 lead. Lake County tied the game in the top of the ninth inning. Dorssys Paulino singled home Paul Hendrix, who reached base with his fourth hit of the night, and the score was 3-3.
RHP Jordan Milbrath (3-12) was the starting pitcher for Lake County. Milbrath did not get a decision. Jordan pitched four innings and allowed one earned run on five hits, two walks and he struck out five. Luis Dejesus pitched two innings of shutout baseball. Dejesus allowed one hit and fanned three. Robbie Aviles pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk. Caleb Hamrick (3-9) took the loss. Hamrick pitched two and two thirds innings and tossed the wild pitch, which scored the game winner.
LHP Chris Kirsh (9-6) started the game for the Hot Rods. Kirsh did not get a decision. Kirsh pitched four and one third innings and allowed two earned runs on eight hits he walked two and struck out seven. The Hot Rods used two pitchers in relief and the win went to William Gabay. Gabay (2-1) pitched three and one third innings of relief.
Lake County will continue a six-game road trip on Tuesday. The Captains will play game two of a three-game series with Bowling Green. Lake County will give the ball to LHP Anderson Polanco (2-0, 2.06) and the Hot Rods will counter with RHP German Marquez (4-5, 3.33). First Pitch will be at 8:05 PM from Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, KY.
