New Jersey Jackals News Release

On a clear, chilly night at Stade Municipal, the Jackals recorded a season-high 20 hits en route to a 12-7 victory over the Capitales. The win comes one day after their 8-7 comeback win in 11 innings.

The win pushes New Jersey's winning streak to five and puts them two and a half games over the second place Capitales in the Can-Am standings.

With singles, doubles, and Steve Caseres' second home run in as many days, the Jackals jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings. Bryan Sabatella and Nick Giarraputo both homered in the fourth, knocking Quebec starter Adam Kudryk out of the game. Kudryk allowed ten earned runs in four innings, dropping to 0-3 on the season. Giarraputo's home run gives him a Can-Am leading 28 RBIs on the season. Sabatella ends the day 4-6 with three RBIs

Kyle Greenwalt allowed four runs in a season-high six innings, improving to 2-1 on the season.

Matt Cusick, who the Jackals acquired via trade earlier in the week, went 3-6 with two RBIs. He's 5-11 in his two games with New Jersey. Regular second baseman Gaetano Giunta got the half day off at designated hitter and went 3-6.

Tomorrow, the Jackals will send out birthday boy Matt Chico (0-3, 9.50 ERA). Last time out against the St. Paul Saints, he got the loss after allowing a run in six and a third innings. The Capitales will look to Bryan Rembisz (2-0, 3.33 ERA) to avoid the sweep. First pitch is 1:05ET.

The New Jersey Jackals, proud members of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, NJ. 2012 single-game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 973-746-7434.
