New Jersey 12, Quebec 7

The Jackals scored three or more runs in three of the first four innings, taking a 10-3 lead en route to a 12-7 win. New Jersey LF Bryan Sabatella led off the fourth inning with a solo home run and led all players in hits, going 4-for-6 with three runs and two RBI. Jackals 3B Nick Giarraputo and 1B Steve Caseres joined Sabatella, hitting their seventh and second home runs, respectively. The Capitales C Josue Peley hit one of his club's three doubles, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Giarraputo - who went 2-for-3 - led all players with three RBI, two coming on his fourth-inning homer. On the mound for the Jackals, starter Kyle Greenwalt threw six innings and allowed four runs on six hits while striking out three Capitales batters.

Worcester 7, Rockland 2

Holding onto a narrow, one-run lead in the sixth, the Tornadoes used a two-run Brendon Kelliher homer to spark a four-run inning and defeat Rockland, 7-2. Joining Kelliher in the Worcester home run party, CF Jerod Edmondson hit his fifth round-tripper of the year, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Tornadoes starting pitcher Kevin Cooper went six innings and allowed two runs on eight hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Cooper's season ERA sits at 4.38. For Rockland, 1B Ryan Scoma went 2-for-5 and scored on a fifth-inning, Cole Kraft single.

Newark 6, Gary SouthShore 4

The RailCats brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth. But Bears reliever Jorge Vasquez closed the door, striking out Gary SouthShore 1B Mike Rohde to earn the 6-4 win and his seventh save of the year. At the plate for Newark, 2B Juan Martinez went 3-for-5 with two runs, one coming on a solo home run in the first inning. Newark trailed, 4-2, after seven innings. But a two-out rally in the eighth saw Newark score four runs on five hits to take the lead for good. RailCats LF Mike Coles hit his second double of the year, going 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI as the only Gary SouthShore player with multiple hits.
