"The Greenest City in Mississippi" is gearing up to go even greener, as Horn Lake mayor Nat Baker has issued a challenge to residents and city employees: sell 5,000 tickets to the RiverKings Friday, April 24th game and he will shave his head - sell 2,000 tickets and he will dye his hair green to raise money for Horn Lake youth sports and animal adoption programs.

"This is a unique opportunity for us to do something that is going to benefit kids and animals in our city, the two most vulnerable groups in our population," Baker said. "The RiverKings and Maddox Foundation have pledged to donate up to $10 per ticket sold to benefit youth sports and community animal programs. We're really excited. This could make a huge difference in this year's youth sports and parks programs."

In addition to Mayor Baker, the City of Horn Lake and the Friends of Horn Lake will join forces in the "Horn Lake Has a Heart for Hockey" fundraiser. The money raised will be specifically earmarked for youth sports programs and to help abandoned and homeless pets.

Furthermore, Baker said the evening is going to be a lot of fun for everyone involved.

"This a great opportunity for families to get out and enjoy a fun night together, and we'll have Horn Lake activities all night long," Baker said.

The RiverKings are also donating a table on the concourse where fans from throughout the community can donate dry or wet dog and cat food, blankets and other supplies benefiting the Horn Lake Animal Shelter.
