Smith Voted Bucks Team MVP

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks announced at Tuesday night's Season Ticket Holder Party that Darryl Smith has been voted the BBVA Compass Bank Team MVP for the 2008-09 season. The Bucks handed out 11 awards at the party in all, with the players voting for the winners.
Smith, who was named Rookie of the Year, and to the All-Rookie team last month, put up 70 points (36-34=70) in the regular season, to go along with eight points 5-3=8) in five playoff games.
Veteran Bobby Russell was voted the TCI Tire Centers Fastest Player, while Jeff Bes took home the Apple Bee Learning Center Smartest Player award.
The Bucks sponsors were on hand to give out the awards, as the players received special gag gifts for their accomplishments.

The Bucks will begin their eighth season in the Gateway City in October, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star game in January.
