CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hooks take on sister club Round Rock tonight at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi's final 2009 tune-up.
Gates open at 4:30 and first pitch is 6:05.
Lefty Douglas Arguello will start for the Hooks. The Nicaraguan native went 10-6 with a 3.30 ERA in 27 appearances for Salem last season. His ERA ranked third in the Carolina League, fourth among all minor leaguers.
The Express counter with Corpus Christi's 2008 Pitcher of the Year, Bud Norris. A member of the Astros 40-man roster, he enters the season as the No.2 prospect in Houston's system by Baseball America. Norris posted a 1.89 ERA for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League and made nine starts for the Astros this spring.
Brad James is also scheduled to work for Corpus Christi. James, a member of the Houston 40-man, missed most of the second half last year due to back problems. He was named to the South Division squad for the Texas League All-Star game.
Corpus Christi opens the regular season Thursday night at Whataburger Field against Tulsa. First pitch is 7:05.
