
Honkers Sign Barton County Community College Pitcher

(Rochester, Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers announced today the signing Jackson Rose, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Barton County CC in Great Bend, Kan.
Rose is 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and hails from Omaha, Neb. He is currently 2-1 with a 6.75 ERA. Rose has started four of his five appearances, tossing 22.2 innings, and striking out 28. His last outing was a complete game (7-inning) two-hit, nine strikeout shutout of Butler Community College on March 14th, as the Cougars downed Butler 5-0.
As a freshman, Rose went 6-2 with a 4.83 ERA. He finished the season with 39 strikeouts in 41.0 innings of work with a team-high 19 appearances.
Barton is in action again on Thursday, March 17th at home when North Iowa Area Community College comes to town for a doubleheader starting at 1:00pm. Rose is scheduled to start on Sunday, March 20th at home when Metropolitan Community College - Longview visits Barton for a doubleheader weekend, with two games on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Rose is being highly recruited by Wichita State, Illinois State, Missouri State and Nebraska Omaha.
The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
