Rochester Honkers News Release

(Rochester, MN) - Once again the Honkers get suspended due to rain at Mayo Field. This time it was only 2.5 innings into the ball game, tied at 1. The Honkers and Border Cats will resume tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 15 at 5:05 with the continuation of tonight's game, followed by the regular scheduled ball game, thirty minutes after the conclusion of tonight's game.

As per league rules, the second game of the night will only last 7 innings, due to this game not completing five innings before the suspension. The Honkers mustered five hits in their two innings, including a lead off triple in the second inning by Jimmie Koch (Fr, Florida Tech), who later scored the lone Honker run.

The Honkers had a game suspended last weekend, on Thursday night when the Duluth Huskies were in town. The Honkers eventually swept the series, winning both games on Friday, in extra innings and dramatic fashion.

This was game one of a six game home stand for the Honkers, who will look to make some ground in the standings. The Honkers will play two games against the Border Cats, St. Cloud River Bats and the Alexandria Beetles stretching through the weekend. Tomorrows game will still have fireworks upon the conclusion of the second game..
