Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
The Chattanooga Lookouts (26-20) belted three home runs in their dramatic 8-6 win over the Rocket City Trash Pandas (24-21).
Runs were hard to come by at first for Chattanooga. Lorenzo Cedrola hit the first home run of the game in the opening inning, but Reid Detmers settled down and mowed down the home team. In six innings the Angels' number one prospect struck out 16 batters. The ace of the Trash Panda's staff did falter in the fourth when he surrendered back-to-back home runs by Brian Rey and Wilson Garcia. In this game, the Lookouts a 5-2 lead, but Rocket City put two up in the seventh and on up in the eighth to tie it at five.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Mark Kolozsvary led off the inning with a walk. Rey then singled and Garcia hit a two-run single to break the five-run stalemate. They added one more run on a wild pitch to make it 8-5.
Lookouts closer Nick Howard came in and gave up a run, but ultimately earned his sixth save of the season.
Tomorrow is a 2:15 pm. Sunday matinee with gates opening at 1:00 p.m. After the game kids can run the bases presented by Great Clips.
