Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings (1-2-1-0) kick off their 10th season in the North American Hockey League with home opening weekend tonight and tomorrow night at the Odde Ice Center. The Wings will face off against the Austin Bruins (2-1-0-1) in both games. Aberdeen is looking to improve upon a slow start at the NAHL Showcase last weekend where they went 1-2-1 over the four games. Natan Vertes had an outstanding individual performance scoring 5 goals in those 4 games including a natural hat trick in the opening game. The Wings are still looking to someone to fill NAHL Goaltender of the Year Matt Vernon's skates in the crease. Both tenders, Welsch and Jake Sibell split the work last week. Austin came out of the showcase with a 2-1-0-1 record. The teams did meet just a few weeks ago an exhibition play with the Wings coming away with a road victory and a home extended shootout win.
Home game tickets are on sale NOW! $10 General Admission tickets at any of the 4 C-Express locations in Aberdeen. Reserved tickets will also be available at the door during Aberdeen Wings Home Games or by calling Aaron @ 605-380-5852. The doors will open at 5:30 and the puck drops at 7:15! Get to the Odde early and help us honor your 2018-2019 Central Division Regular Season, Playoff & NAHL Robertson Cup National Champions with the unveiling of all 3 championship banners!
