Sevierville, Tennessee - The Southern League has announced that Tennessee Smokies pitcher Mark Holliman has been awarded with the Pitcher of the Week honor for the week of June 18-24.

Holliman etched his name into the Southern League record books this past week, pitching a seven-inning no-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader against Huntsville on June 21st. Holliman issued only one walk and recorded three strikeouts to become the first Southern Leaguer to throw a no-hitter since Carolina's Nic Ungs on July 29, 2005. The 23-year old Holliman also became the first member of the Smokies to accomplish the feat since Leo Estrella on May 27, 2000. Mark helped out his own cause in the game as well, belting a two-run homer to lead the Smokies to a 3-0 win over Huntsville. Holliman currently leads the Southern League with a 2.49 ERA.

This marks the second Southern League Pitcher of the Week award won by Holliman this season. Holliman also won the award for the week of April 16-22, with former Smokies outfielder Chris Walker taking home the Hitter of the Week award in the same week.
