EL PASO, TX- Scott Hodsdon (8-2) pitched his second complete game in ten days and Fernando Valenzuela Jr. homered as the Diablos completed a three-game sweep of the Sioux City Explorers, winning the finale 8-0.

Hodsdon was on from the start, striking out six and allowing just seven hits in his first shutout among the three complete games. He also worked out of trouble, as the Explorers finished 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

At the plate, the Diablos slowly chipped away at starter Nick Schumacher (5-6) with two runs over the first two innings before exploding in the sixth. Hodsdon has now thrown 35 innings over his last four starts, each of them Diablos victories. His third complete game puts him in a tie for fifth in that category.

The Diablos (38-39)are one game under .500 for the first time since beginning the season 1-2 and now head on the road for an eight-game trip against Wichita and Grand Prairie.
