Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - One of the longest-serving and most-respected members of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers front office staff has been promoted, the team announced today.
Ross Hodgkinson will assume the title of Director of Football Operations effective immediately. Hodgkinson previously served as the team's head athletic trainer and director of logistics.
Hodgkinson's new responsibilities will include assisting Bombers General Manager Brendan Taman in all facets of the team's football operations department. Those responsibilities will include coordinating this year's training camp, providing input in preparation for the Canadian College Draft and ensuring the team adheres to the CFL's new Salary Management System.
"We are pleased to have someone with Ross Hodgkinson's experience and abilities take on a larger administrative role with the football club," Taman said. "I'm confident that he will have a tremendous impact on the operation of this football club, both on the field and in the front office."
Hodgkinson worked as the Blue Bombers' head athletic therapist from 1985 until 1996 when he joined the Manitoba Moose. He rejoined the Blue & Gold in 2002 and has been with the team ever since.
"I'm eager to do everything I can to help this team regain its standing as one of the elite teams in the CFL," Hodgkinson said. "Brendan and I enjoy a strong working relationship and I'm confident that will make for a smooth transition for me."
The football expects to announce a new full-time athletic trainer within the next few weeks.
