
Hitmen Name Ryan Getzlaf as Team Captain

Hitmen GM and Head Coach Kelly Kisio announced today Forward Ryan Getzlaf has been named the Captain of the 2004-2005 Calgary Hitmen. Getzlaf is entering his 4th full season with the Hitmen. The Regina, Saskatchewan native recently signed an NHL contract with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
"I believe Ryan has all the characteristics of a strong leader. Along with his experience on the Canadian Junior team and Anaheim's NHL camp, his maturity and dedication to the team will be a positive influence his teammates" noted Kisio.
Andrew Ladd, Darryl Yacboski, and Brett O'Malley were also today named as Assistant Captains.
