Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Red Deer Rebels 2-1 in Game 2 of the Husky WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final Friday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary now leads the best-of-seven series 2-0.
Rookie Elliott Peterson and Victor Rask each scored for Calgary as the Hitmen outshot the Rebels 42-30 in the win. Dating back to the regular season, Rask now has points in 13-straight games including nine points (4g, 5a) over seven playoff contests.
Jordan DePape scored the lone goal for the visitors as Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger made 29 saves to record the win.
The Husky WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final continues with Game 3 on Monday, April 8 and Game 4 on April 9. Both playoff games are 7:00 p.m. starts at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer. If necessary, Game 5 will be played on Thursday, April 11, with a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
