Hitmen Jump ahead Early, Cruise to 6-2 Win

Lethbridge, AB - The Calgary Hitmen scored four times 3:46 apart in the first period en-route to a 6-2 victory over the Eastern Conference leading Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre.

Jake Bean and Travis Sanheim both had a goal and two assists for Calgary while Radel Fazleev recorded three assists.

Beck Malenstyn, Pavel Karnaukhov, Matteo Gennaro and Carsen Twarynski, into an empty net, also scored for the visitors who outshot Lethbridge 35-17.

Tyler Wong and Ryley Lindgren netted goals for the Hurricanes who saw their 13-game home ice winning streak come to an end.

The Hitmen, 33-21-1-2, are back on the ice Friday, Feb. 19 in Medicine Hat (Sportsnet.ca/960 Alt Stream).

The next Hitmen home game is Saturday, Feb. 20 against Lethbridge. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome for Hometown Heroes presented by Metro News. The game will honour first responders along with Canadian Armed Forces, Alberta Sheriffs, Alberta Correctional Services, Alberta Health Services and Calgary 911.
