Hitmen head into Game 5 Thursday with 3-1 series lead

Red Deer, AB - Cody Sylvester scored the overtime game-winning goal to lift the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels Tuesday evening at the ENMAX Centrium.

Each team benefitted from a two-goal period to begin the third frame tied at two. In the first period, Calgary established a 2-0 lead with goals from Jake Virtanen and Brooks Macek. Red Deer responded with back-to-back power play markers by Dominik Volek and Conner Bleakley in the middle stanza. Both teams were held scoreless in the third period to force the extra frame.

Chris Driedger made 37 saves, including stopping 26 of 28 shots he faced over the second and third periods, to record the win as the Hitmen take a 3-1 lead in the series.
