Chico Outlaws News Release

Chico, CA - The Chico Outlaws invite you and your family to a very special Opening Night at the "Nett" on Memorial Day, Monday May 25th. The Outlaws will face-off with defending Golden Baseball League champions, the Orange County Flyers. First-pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. in the first of 41 home dates this summer for the ballclub.

You will want to be in your seat early, as Opening Night festivities will include a historic first at the "Nett"...a "flying raccoon". After rigorous training and many practice jumps, Rascal the Raccoon will parachute into the stadium to deliver a ceremonial game-ball to Chico Mayor Ann Schwab. Mayor Schwab will then deliver the first pitch, and the Outlaws will officially begin their fifth anniversary season as a member of the Chico community.

"He's ready," general manager Curt Jacey says of Rascal's parachuting ambitions. "He'll be the biggest raccoon to ever fall out of the sky. He's worked hard, just like our ballplayers, and it was his idea to do something special to celebrate our fifth year as a part of the Chico fabric."

The Outlaws are also proud to announce that on Memorial Day, they will be honoring veteran servicemen and servicewomen on the field before the ballgame.

The Outlaws have partnered up with locally owned and operated The End Zone Sports Bar and Grill to have The End Zone run all concession operations during the 2009 season. The End Zone promises to bring fans high quality food at new lower prices. Also new for the 2009 season will be a kids boardwalk located behind the first base grandstand that will include a bounce house, a prize wheel, Plinko and ball toss games, and many other fun activities for the kids.

Help us "Fill the Nett" for Opening Night. Be sure you're there to take all the excitement of professional baseball right here in Chico. Buy your tickets any time of day online at www.chicooutlaws.com. Or get your tickets by calling or stopping by the Chico Outlaws downtown office (530-345-3210 and 308 Salem Street).
