
Toros Lose High Scoring Affair

The Tucson Toros dropped their second game in a row, losing 10-8 to the Chico Outlaws at Hi Corbett Field. In what was the highest attended game of the season, the crowd of 5,106 on-hand for Souvenir Saturday, witnessed a high scoring affair that was not short on offense.
Chico 2B Dan Luyben provided the spark for the Outlaw's going 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs, including a 3-RBI double in the 4th inning off of Toros starter Danny Greenwalt. Chico LF Blake Gailen added 2 hits in 4 at bats including 3 RBIs.
Toros 2B Skip Adams provided a major offensive output. His line for the evening includes 3 hits in 5 at bats, 3 runs, and 4 RBIs. The majority of his numbers coming courtesy of 2 HRs, The first one a leadoff, solo shot in the 5th inning, and the second one a 3-run blast coming in the 7th.
Chico reliever Mikael Ryder (1-0) is the credited with the win after his 2 inning performance. Toros reliever Tom Wilhelmsen (0-1) is credited with the loss after he uncorked 3 wild pitches leading to 3 Outlaw runs. Outlaw reliever Ben Shockey is credited with the save, it is his second on the season.
Tucson moves to 1-2 on the season, as Chico improves their record to 2-1. The Toros look to even the series against the Outlaws on Sunday night in the final game of the 4 game series.
