The Hillcats added another run in the top of the seventh. Andrelon Simmons singled in Shawn McGill making it 3-0 and providing an extra insurance run for Hillcats' reliever Andrew Wilson.

Game two was another low scoring affair.

The Hillcats took the early lead again, this time with the help of two Keys' errors.

L.V. Ware led off the first with a double. Phil Gosselin then reached on an error by third baseman Buck Britton, but Ware remained at second. Ware then came around to score as Todd Cunningham's ground ball went off the glove of shortstop Garabez Rosa in to left-center field. It was 1-0 Lynchburg in the first.

The Hillcats scored again in the top of the fourth inning. Todd Cunningham sent the first pitch he saw over the left field wall, his first of the season, adding to the Hillcats' league leading 13 home runs as a team. Cunningham's long ball made it 2-0 Hillcats.

Lynchburg took their 2-0 lead into the seventh, when right-hander Eliecer Cardenas was brought in to close out the game.

The Keys who were held scoreless through 13 innings on the afternoon, finally got on the board in the bottom of the seventh of game two. With two outs, Buck Britton singled off the glove of Joey Terdoslavich at first base, bringing L.J. Hoes around to score from second. The Keys had cut the lead to one bringing the go ahead run to the plate. Dale Mollenhauer would then pinch run for Britton, representing the tying run. Mollenhauer advanced to second on a wild pitch but was stranded as Steve Bumbry struck out swinging to end the game. Cardenas was able to hold off the Keys and record his first save of the year as the Hillcats won 2-1.
