Texas Copperheads News Release

Houston, TX - The Texas Copperheads have placed LB/DL Julian Hill on the injured reserve list. Hill was injured late in the third quarter of Saturday night's loss to the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. Hill was removed by stretcher and taken to a Bossier City hospital after he lay motionless on the field for more than ten minutes. Hill will recover but his football career is likely over.

"He (Hill) was diagnosed with a spinal chord injury" said Copperheads Head Coach Ollie Guidry. "Unfortunately for him, he's not going to be able to play football. His days of playing football have come to an end. The best news about all of this is that he's going to have a full recovery. He's going to be able to walk and live a normal life."

Hill, a Katy native, af2 rookie and former Baylor Bear, has been with the Copperheads since the start of training camp 2008. In the 10 games he played, Hill accounted for 9 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 recovered fumble, 1 sack and 1 blocked kick. "J-Hill has been a big part of our team all year" said Guidry. "He was playing well for us."
