
Aaron Williams earns Week 12 honors

AMARILLO, TEXAS Dusters defensive back Aaron Williams received player of the week honors from the af2 for his performance in last Saturday's game against the Rio Grande Valley Dorados. Williams was the ADT Defensive Player of the Week.
Williams had a Week 12 high of three interceptions with two of the three picks in the fourth quarter to help the Dusters clinch their fifth win of the season. This is the first weekly af2 award of Williams career, although he continues to be a critical component of the Dusters defense.
Williams currently leads the team in tackles with 38.5, interceptions with eight, and pass break-ups with 14.
At the team level, Julian Reese was awarded the Schutt Offensive Player of the Game. Craig Fulton, Jr. was the JLS Ironman of the Game, and Bobby Chase received the Cutters Catch of the Game.
The league released playoff standings as of June 15, 2008. Despite the tough streak in the middle of the season from the Dusters, the team is still sitting in playoff contention. Amarillo is currently number seven in the standings and owns strength of schedule over Boise, Bossier-Shreveport, and Corpus Christi.
Eight teams from each conference will make the playoffs. As the end of the regular season approaches, teams will have the opportunity to clinch playoff spots with wins and losses.
The Amarillo Dusters will take on the Lubbock Renegades this Saturday. The
team will return home on June 28 to battle the Tulsa Talons. Tickets start
