Game Highlights

Quarter 1: Highlanders 26, Hurricanes 20

The Highlanders took the court in Halifax riding a 5-game winning streak. Bruce Massey kept up his great play as of late by putting up 12 points on 5-6 shooting. Cape Breton was finding ways to score and were forcing the Hurricanes to take difficult shots.

Quarter 2: Highlanders 50, Hurricanes 43

Halifax started the second quarter with a 7-0 run, which would put them in the lead. Fortunately for the Highlanders, stellar offensive play from Kenny Jones, who shot a perfect 7-7 in the first half for a total of 18 points, put Cape Breton back in control. They would end the half with a 7-point lead.

Quarter 3: Highlanders 74, Storm 71

The Halifax Hurricanes came out stronger in the second half. They were able to find good shots and were much more efficient from the field. The Highlanders struggled early in the quarter, but managed to keep their lead throughout the period. The intensity started to pick up, making for and exciting final quarter to come.

Quarter 4: Highlanders 106, Hurricanes 93

Cape Breton came out flying in the fourth quarter and took a strong lead right away. Halifax struggled to keep up with the offence of the Highlanders, and that ultimately ended up being the difference. Highlanders would go on to win their 6th straight game, inching closer to the top seed in the league.
