Hidalgo La Fiera Drops Close Game

MONTERREY, Mexico - Hidalgo La Fiera dropped their first game of the season to Monterrey Flash by a final score of 7-4 on Wednesday night at the Monterrey Arena.

After a scoreless first quarter, La Fiera (1-1) took a 1-0 lead in the second quarter on a Joel Perez goal which was the first of the season. Monterrey tied the game at 1 when Alex Caceres scored on a power play goal.

In the third quarter, both Monterrey (4-0) and La Fiera traded two goals apiece to make it a 3 all game heading into the final quarter. The goals were scored by Angel Hernandez and Edgar Flores, which was his fifth goal of the season.

Monterrey and Hidalgo traded goals with in the first 4 minutes of the fourth quarter to make the game tied at four.

Monterrey would take the lead for good in the fourth with three goals from Brayan Aguilar and a brace from Yotsi Martinez to end the scoring making it a 7-4 final.

Juan Gamboa (1-1) took the loss for La Fiera, while Jose Bontti (4-0) was the winner for the Flash.

The next game for Hidalgo La Fiera is on Saturday night, November 22 when they visit Brownsville Barracudas at Estadio Barracudas with the kickoff set for 6:00 pm.

Hidalgo La Fiera will have their first regular season home game on Sunday November 23rd at State Farm Arena versus Monterrey Flash with the kickoff set for 3:05 pm.
