Lancers Announce New Charity Program, Youth Soccer Event

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers today announced the addition of a season-long charity program at all 2014-15 home games. In partnership with John Betlem Heating and Cooling, fans will have the opportunity to win half of a 50/50 pot at every home game.
386334028448000The equipment to be used by the Lancers is the same used by many NFL teams across the country. To enter, fans can purchase tickets from a 50/50 sales rep before and throughout each home game. Upon payment, each contestant will receive a receipt with their numbers for reference. The winning number and total pot won will be announced before the close of every game. Half of each game's raffle will benefit a local non-profit in the Rochester community.

The Rochester Lancers head into their bye week this weekend with an undefeated record. After a thrilling overtime victory last Saturday in Detroit, it's the first time in franchise history starting a season 1-0. Leading the team in scoring, are Mauricio Salles and Joey Tavernese. Tavernese tallied three goals and one assist. Salles, who scored the winning goal in overtime, finished with four goals.
The team will practice on Friday from 9-11am at Total Sports Experience in Gates. It is open to the public and media. Saturday, November 15, the Lancers players will host a FREE youth soccer event at Tire World on Empire Blvd from 1-3pm. There will be youth soccer activities, skills challenges, obstacle course, and more!
