Rome, GA - It took ten innings but the Hickory Crawdads defeated the Rome Braves Tuesday night 7-6 at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 1,876. Rome rallied to tie the contest after falling behind 6-0 early.

Hickory started the scoring early by posted two runs in the first inning on Luke Tendler's two out two run double. The Crawdads made it a 6-0 game with four runs in the fifth. Ricardo Valencia had a run scoring single, Carlos Arroyo added a two RBI single, and a first and third double steal allowed the fourth run to cross the plate.

Rome scored their first run of the game in the sixth on a sacrifice fly RBI by Tanner Krietemeier for the 6-1 score. The Braves plated five runs in a wild eighth inning to tie the game. Justin Black had an RBI single, a passed ball scored a run, a throwing error pushed a run across the plate, and a wild pitch allowed the fourth run of the inning to score. The tying run of the frame touched home when Hickory catcher Valencia's toss to pitcher Chris Dula covering the plate bounced by him allowing the fifth run to score.
