Reno, Nev.- Johh Hester continued his torrid offensive surge Wednesday night, blasting four hits and driving in three, as Reno won its 11th-straight over Tacoma and third-straight overall, topping the Rainiers 11-4 at Aces Ballpark.
The Aces trailed 2-1 in the fourth inning, but exploded for 10 runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take a commanding lead before coasting to victory. Trent Oeltjen crushed a 2-run triple-his league-leading 14th of the year-to give Reno a 3-2 lead. Rusty Ryal added a two-out RBI-single in the frame, and Reno did not look back. Hester added a fifth-inning solo home run and a two-run single in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
The Aces got another strong outing from starter Hector Ambriz (5-7), who won his second-straight decision, striking out seven and walking only one over six innings of work. Major League rehabber Tom Gordon and Reid Mahon threw the final three innings to preserve the victory.
Reno knocked around Tacoma starting pitcher Brandon Morrow (0-2) for seven earned runs over 4.1 innings.
Eight Aces starters got hits Wednseday, led by Hester (4-for-5) and Ryal (3-for-5). Agustin Murillo and Oeltjen each contributed with two RBI.
