SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today an exciting change to the look of the team with the addition of their 25th Anniversary Logo.
The logo, designed by the Stampede's Director of Merchandising Jasen Robbennolt, focuses on the 25 years that the Stampede has been a presence in the Sioux Falls community.
The logo begins with the iconic navy-blue background, an ode to the club's current color scheme and representing the traditions held within the Herd. A silver secondary color is used to celebrate the team's silver anniversary. The tradition of silver on a 25-year anniversary dates back to Roman times when a silver wreath would be given after 25 years of marriage. A subtle accent of the team's usual gold outlines the characters in the center.
The years 1999 and 2024 mark the first 25 years of the Herd on the top half of the circular logo, while the team's name sits at the bottom. The focal point of the logo, the words 25th Season, sit front and center to celebrate the last 25 years while looking forward to the next 25. The font of the "25th" is the same font used in the inaugural season jerseys worn in 1999-2000.
Three USHL Clark Cups are shown in silver below the center text, representing the club's successes and treks to the top of the USHL in 2007, 2015, and 2019. Along with its Clark Cup victories, the team has also taken home one Anderson Cup title for being the top team in the USHL during the 2005-2006 regular season.
Finally, the Herd's iconic mascot, Stomp the Bison, stampedes through the top portion of the circle, incorporating the club's usual logo into this specialty one.
The logo will be featured on the shoulders of the Stampede game jerseys this season and will be showcased in various ways throughout the entire 2023-24 season.
The Stampede begins its regular season on Sep. 20 at the USHL Fall Classic in Pittsburgh, Penn. The team will have its first regular season game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Oct. 7 at 6:05 p.m. Single-game tickets for all Stampede home games will go on sale Sep. 11.
