Herd Bounces Back with Win over Ignite

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat NBA G League Ignite 103-93. The Herd doubled the Ignite score in the second quarter, 36-18, to lead 63-51 at the end of the first half. The Herd came within five points in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough to overthrow the Herd.

Rayjon Tucker led the Herd with a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Wenyen Gabriel also added a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

MarJon Beauchamp led Ignite with 21 points while Scoot Henderson added 17 points.

Ignite scored the first four points but Rayjon Tucker hit a layup to out the Herd on the board. The Herd came within one point but Ignite turned around to go up 22-13. The Herd went on a 9-4 run to come within four points with two minutes left in the first quarter. Ignite held on to lead at the end of the first quarter 33-27.

Rayjon Tucker completed a free throw to put the Herd in its first lead of the game, 36-35. Ignite took the lead back but Jalen Lecque hit a three to put the Herd up 43-41. Ignite went ahead 47-43 with five minutes left in the second quarter. Tremont Waters hit a deep three to put the Herd in the lead 48-47. There were two lead changes until the Herd walked away 58-51. Wenyen Gabriel converted a three-point play to put the Herd up by 10. The Herd led 63-51 at the end of the half. Rayjon Tucker and Jalen Lecque both added 13 points in the first half.

The Herd continued to build their lead by 12 with seven and a half minutes left in the third quarter. Ignite moved to come within five points. The Herd hung on to lead 86-78.

The Herd scored eight unanswered points to go up 92-78. The Herd stayed on top to win 103-93.

The Wisconsin Herd will play again in our Black History Month celebration game on Tuesday, February 15 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
