Toledo Mud Hens News Release
The Toledo Mud Hens will begin an eight-game homestand on Tuesday, May 4th, as the Norfolk Tides come to town for a four-game series, the first series of the season between the two teams. The Hens will also open their 2004 season series with the Buffalo Bisons, as they come to town for a four-game set starting Saturday, May 8th. This will be the only trip to Fifth Third Field for the Bisons, the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Entering Monday, Toledo was in second place in the IL West with a record of 11-13, putting them 4.5 games behind the first-place Indianapolis Indians.

Tuesday, May 4 (Norfolk 1st pitch @ 6:30 pm) â It's a Promedica Testing Tuesday at Fifth Third Field, as expert representatives from Promedica will be on hand to offer free testing to fans for a variety of topics.
Wednesday, May 5 (Norfolk 1st pitch @ 10:30 am) Pepsi and 1470 AM "The Ticket" will sponsor the second School Kids Celebration Education Day of the season. As a special treat, the Zooperstars will be making their first appearance at the Hen House in 2004. These zany, inflatable characters dance and parade around the field to entertain fans between innings. Students will also receive Mud Hens school folders, courtesy of Owens-Illinois.

Friday, May 7 (Norfolk 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) â The Pharm issues another dazzling night of Post-Game Fireworks. From there, fans can head over to the Roost for the Grand Slam Gala, a post-game ballpark bash giving them another opportunity to interact with players, coaches, and community leaders in a fun, high-energy environment. Saturday, May 8 (Buffalo 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) â Fifth Third Field is proud to host Strike Out a Stroke Night. Fans can obtain valuable information on how to help prevent a stroke and the great strides taken by researchers to stop this disease. Just prior to the game, the Hens will welcome local Boy Scouts with a parade around the infield. A Post-Game Fireworks display, brought to you by the Pharm, and the first Boy Scout Sleepover of the season will follow the game, which will be broadcast live on BCSN.
Sunday, May 9 (Buffalo 1st pitch @ 2:00 pm) â Sunday is Mother's Day, and the Mud Hens are pleased to welcome these special people with a Mother's Day Brunch on the third floor of the Roost at 12:00. It's also Autograph Sunday at Fifth Third Field, as two Mud Hens players will be available for a free half-hour autograph session at 1:15 on the main concourse near section 119. Bullfrog Sunblock will be given away to fans during the game, and Applebee's will present Kids and Moms Run the Bases immediately following the game.
Monday, May 10 (Buffalo 1st pitch @ 6:30 pm) â Magic Wok presents Magic Mondays at Fifth Third Field. Every Monday throughout the season, Magic Wok will give out FREE fortune cookies to the first 5,000 fans in attendance. Inside each fortune cookie could be a prize from the Mud Hens or Magic Wok, or a baseball fortune! Also, fans can participate in the Magic Wok Walk Inning and the Magic Wok Cookie Tossing Contest.
