
Bats Crush Knights 12-1

Charlotte, NC - Jim Chamblee and Dane Sardinha each smacked two home runs and Gary Burnham added a homer to power the Louisville Bats to a 12-1 beating of the Charlotte Knights.
Chamblee was 2-for-4 and knocked in four runs. Burnham added a double to his home run and knocked in a pair. Sardinha was 4-for-5, raising his average to 317.
Joe Valentine wouldn't need all the offense on this night, as he shut down the Knights. Valentine allowed no runs and scattered three hits while striking out six to even his record at 1-1. Aaron Myette tossed the final four innings to record his first save of they year. He allowed the lone Charlotte run, which was unearned, and gave up only two hits.
Ryan Kohlmeier dropped to 1-2 and was shelled by Louisville batters. He allowed seven runs, six earned, on eight hits in 4 2/3rd innings.
Louisville improved to 10-14 and will head to Durham tomorrow. Charlotte dropped to 12-13 and heads to Indianapolis.
