Help the Beast Stick It to Cancer on April 11

Brampton, ON - Help the Brampton Beast Stick it to Cancer with a themed walk, BBQ and hockey game this Saturday, April 11 as the Beast take on the Missouri Mavericks during Fan Appreciation Weekend.
Register as an individual or as a team to raise money to support the fight to end cancer, with all proceeds going to Wellspring Chinguacousy, a cancer support centre located in a residential neighborhood in Brampton. Individual packages include participation in the Stick it to Cancer walk, a themed T-shirt, free pre-game BBQ and admission to the Beast-Mavericks game, and start at just $20 a person until the early bird deadline on April 6.
"We are so grateful for the support of the Brampton Beast and the Stick it to Cancer event," says Christina Smith, CEO Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. "We love seeing communities come together in this way to support one another, and particularly when it benefits those most in need. The funds raised during this Fan Appreciation Weekend will help Wellspring Chinguacousy continue providing free supportive care programming and services for those in the Brampton community who are living with cancer. "
Team packages are also available for groups of 10 or more, with team captains receiving a replica Brampton Beast jersey and all teams entered into a final draw to win a suite for the night!

Event sign-in will begin at 3:00 pm on April 11, with opening ceremonies scheduled for 4:00. The Stick it to Cancer walk will commence at 4:30 with the awards and BBQ starting at 5:00, after which the Beast Pre-game Party (open to the public) will kick-off before puck drop at 7:00 pm. -
March is colon cancer awareness month, which has becoming the second leading cause of both male and female cancer-related deaths in Canada. In 2014, an estimated 24,400 Canadians were diagnosed with colon cancer, one of the most preventable forms of the disease. If caught early, over 90% of these cases could and should result in a full recovery.
