Heemskirk Returns to Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. (November 17, 2013) - Goaltender Thomas Heemskerk has returned to the Quad City Mallards from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, the Mallards announced today. The Mallards also announced they have waived goaltender Casey Sherwood.

Heemskirk signed a professional tryout agreement with the Wild Friday and served as back-up in Iowa's games against the San Antonio Rampage on Friday evening and the Milwaukee Admirals last night.

In three games with the Mallards this season Heemskirk has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. The 23-year old Chilliwack, British Columbia, native has stopped 59 of 62 shots while winning each of his last two starts.

Sherwood joined the Mallards Friday and backed up Ty Rimmer as the Mallards split a pair of games against the Cutthroats in Denver Friday evening and last night.

The Mallards next play at home on Friday, November 29 at 7:05 p.m. against the St. Charles Chill. November 29 is also a $1 Dog/$1 Beer Friday presented by 97X. Fans can purchase hot dogs and beer for $1 at iWireless Center concession stands during all Friday night home games.

The ticket office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
