Abbotsford Heat News Release
Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat host the San Antonio Rampage for the second time in less than 24 hours this afternoon at 1:00 at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre as they continue their hunt for a playoff spot in the AHL's Western Conference.
Greg Nemisz, and Guillaume Desbiens both returned for their first action with the Heat since being reassigned by the Calgary Flames after seven games with the big club. Desbiens wore the Captain's 'C' and had a scrap, while Nemisz recorded a team high five shots in the loss.
The Heat have a decision to make in net, as Danny Taylor has been superb in two starts against the Lone Star outfit, having allowed just a single goal in two wins; while Leland Irving seems to thrive on playing time as last season's AHL minutes played leader. If the Heat split the weekend puck-stopping duties it will see Taylor look to extend a stingy run in net that has seen four of his last five appearances not allow more than a goal against.
Today is Oly's Pet Connection 'Two Minutes for Ruffing' game where fans are invited to bring their K-9 friends to the game in support of the Abbotsford SPCA.
Today's game begins at 1:00 and can be heard be heard on Country 107.1 beginning with the 12:30 pre-game show. The game can be also heard on Country 107.1's website, theAHL.com, and on the Rogers Radio App for your wireless device.
