Heat Make Roster Moves

The Abbotsford Heat have today made two roster moves:

1) Goaltender Leland Irving has been assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the East Coast Hockey League. Irving, 22, has appeared in 30 games this season, posting a record of 11-15-2 with one shutout. The Swan Hills, Alberta native has a goals against average of 2.68 and a save percentage of.909.

2) Goaltender David Shantz has been recalled from the Victoria Salmon Kings of the East Coast Hockey League. Shantz, 24, has appeared in 28 games for the Salmon Kings this season, posting a record of 18-5-4 with two shutouts. Shantz has a goals against average of 2.88 and a save percentage of.910. The Hamilton, ON, native has also appeared in five games this season for the HEAT, posting a 2-2 record with one shutout.

HEAT Head Coach Jim Playfair will be featured on the HONDA WAY PREGAME SHOW, on Friday afternoon, to discuss the roster moves and to talk about the HEAT's upcoming three game road swing through Texas. Abbotsford will take on the TEXAS STARS, and you can catch all the action on COUNTRY 107.1 FM, beginning with the pregame show at 5:15 pm.
