Abbotsford Heat News Release
Houston, TX - The Abbotsford Heat extended their point streak to three games, but lost 3-2 in overtime to the Houston Aeros in their third game in 48 hours in Texas.
The Heat (12-2-2-2) close their five-game road trip having earned seven of a possible ten points, and remain in top spot in the AHL with 28 points through 18 games.
After the Aeros opened the scoring on the power play at 14:32 of the first period, the Heat would equalize just 1:18 later as Brett Olson banked a puck in off a Houston defender. Olson now has four goals on the season, and was set up by Sylvester and Byron for his second goal in as many nights.
The Aeros had the lone goal in the second period, and the Heat trailed 2-1 after 40 minutes.
The Heat tied the game at 2-2 with a point blast from Joe Piskula at the 50:18 mark of the third period. Carter Bancks and Zach McKelvie earned assists on the play.
Tied 2-2 after regulation, the Heat went to overtime for the third consecutive game, but were beaten early by Jason Zucker just five seconds into the fourth period.
Danny Taylor started his ninth game of the season, stopping 20 of 22 shots in regulation.
The Heat power play finished without a goal on three opportunities, while the Aeros scored once on three man-advantages.

Friday's game is "Legends of Hockey Night", where the Heat will honour ten time Stanley Cup champion Yvan Cournoyer.
