Abbotsford Heat News Release

Oklahoma City, OK - The Abbotsford Heat kick off a huge weekend set, and potential first place showdown tonight in Oklahoma City, as they face the Barons twice in 24 hours. After last night's 2-1 overtime loss against Rockford the Barons sit 2 points ahead of Abbotsford while the Heat hold a game-in-hand as both teams jockey for top spot in the AHL's West Division and the AHL's top spot overall.

The Heat have a record of 1-2-1-0 against the affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, as the Barons won both prior games (one in overtime) in Abbotsford, while the Heat split a two game set at the Cox Convention Center in their November visit to Oklahoma.

Following this weekend set with Oklahoma City today and tomorrow, Abbotsford closes out the trip with a Martin Luther King Day afternoon game with the San Antonio Rampage on Monday; that game will be the fifth in seven days for the Heat. The Next home action for the Heat is pair of games with the Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes), who the Heat have yet to play this season, on January 20th and 21st at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

Tonight's start is slated for 5:00 PM PST with the pre-game show starting at 4:45 on Country 107.1 in Abbotsford and theAHL.com. Tomorrow the two clubs meet again in a matinee match at 2:00 PST the pre-game show will start at 1:45 on Sunday.
