Defenseman Charles Landry Reassigned to ECHL Florida

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned defenseman Charles Landry from the Admirals to the ECHL's Florida Everblades, Admirals General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Landry, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, has appeared in 20 games for the Admirals this season, registering six assists, 19 penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating. He has appeared in five games with the Everblades this season, recording three assists and a plus-3 rating.

Last season, the 20-year-old native of Napierville, Qu�bec, appeared in 57 games with the Montreal Juniors of the Qu�bec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), recording career bests with 11 goals and 40 points. He also registered a plus-26 rating. Landry led the team in goals by a defenseman, was third in points by a defenseman and was tied for third overall in plus/minus. He also posted one goal and three points in ten playoff games for the Juniors. Landry also appeared in one game for the Admirals during the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Landry played in 234 career QMJHL games between Montreal and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He registered 22 goals and 96 points during his career. He also skated in 43 post-season games, amassing six goals and 12 points.

Originally undrafted, Landry was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by the Lightning on September 15, 2010. He represented the Lightning at the 2010 Traverse City NHL Prospects Tournament as an invitee.

The Admirals and Connecticut Whale meet tonight at Scope at 7:15 p.m. before the Admirals embark on a three-game road trip. Tonight's rematch against the Whale will be the fifth-annual Pink in the Rink Night to Benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This annual event features an Admirals game played on pink ice and seeks to educate and raise awareness about breast cancer while also raising monies for the Tidewater Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Events leading up to and during the game include a breast cancer informational session, survivor participation during game night, "Hockey 101" and a silent auction for player-autographed Admirals and NHL items.
