Heat Announce Post Game Concert
October 9, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat - in partnership with 604 Records - are pleased to announce a post-game performance by Fighting for Ithaca, at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre on Saturday, October 20, 2012. This is the first of three post-game concerts as part of the Heat's Big Ticket campaign to enhance value for fans.
Honing their trade in the Fraser Valley, Fighting For Ithaca's self-released 2010 EP Thanks for Waiting garnered radio and video play. The group's 2011 iTunes charting holiday single, Partying With Santa, brought them even more attention. To The Rescue, set to be released October 22nd, finds the act further refining their crunchy, guitar-based pop attack, with hit single Last Chance leading the way.
"We've gone from being pretty popular in the local scene to running around with the guys in Marianas Trench and Faber Drive, to Danny from Default; all these guys from these very big bands," says drummer Phil Maloney "We realize we're fortunate to be in the position that we're in. We're looking forward to getting to that next step."
The post-game concert performance signifies the team's continued commitment to the fan experience. Last season, post-game concerts by hit artists Aaron Pritchett and Victoria Duffield proved to be popular events.
"A survey of our fans confirmed that pricing and added value were important factors in the fan experience," said Ryan Walter, Abbotsford Heat President. "We have top NHL prospects playing on our ice, we have lowered our ticket prices, and we're continuing to add value with a live concert series following three featured games. We are looking forward to hosting Fighting For Ithaca to kick that off."
The Abbotsford Heat season starts on October 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm versus St. Louis Blues AHL affiliate the Peoria Rivermen. Pricing starts at $15 per game.
